Thanks for the detailed response.
tdom does please me for many years so I cannot complain. It is small issue that I can live with.
Maybe version 0.9 will have the -strict flag so I will wait :-)

I have never used it, but the only command that seems appropriate is "imap4::msginfo", as it is the only command that uses a message ID. The docs are not explicit about that though.
